I've always loved dressing for the Fourth of July.

Not in an over-the-top, head-to-toe American flag kind of way (although if that's your thing, go for it!). I just love finding outfits that have little pops of red, white, and blue that feel festive without looking like a costume.

Whether you're heading to a backyard barbecue, watching fireworks, spending the day at the lake, or just grabbing ice cream with friends, I think getting dressed is part of the fun.

These are a few outfits I'd happily wear this Independence Day.

The Cowgirl Moment

This outfit just screams summer.

I love how the white dress keeps everything feeling light and classic, while the bright red cowboy boots and matching hat make the whole look so much fun. The navy bandana is the perfect finishing touch that ties the whole outfit together.

If I ever needed an excuse to wear red cowboy boots, the Fourth of July would definitely be it.

I'd wear this to:

  • A rodeo

  • Fireworks

  • A country concert

  • A small-town parade

Blue Skies & Bloomers

This outfit feels a little more playful than the others, and I absolutely love it.

The bright blue top makes the whole outfit feel festive, while the white lace bloomers keep it soft and feminine. Then the red Mary Janes add just the right amount of color without overpowering everything else.

It's one of those outfits that makes me feel like I stepped out of a summer storybook, and honestly, I think that's part of the fun.

I'd wear this to:

  • A picnic in the park

  • An outdoor market

  • A family cookout

  • Watching fireworks on a blanket

Boho Summer

I really have a soft spot for anything boho and this blue jumpsuit is already one of my favorite pieces, but layering this lace kimono over it makes the whole outfit feel a little more romantic.

I finished it off with raspberry jelly mules, which add a fun pop of color while keeping everything comfortable.

This outfit feels relaxed, easy, and perfect for a slower kind of Fourth of July.

I'd wear this to:

  • A lake day

  • A backyard picnic

  • An evening bonfire

  • Watching the sunset before fireworks

Sporty & Classic

Sometimes the simplest outfits end up being my favorites.

A navy tank, flowy white skirt, and bright red Adidas sneakers check all the patriotic boxes without feeling like you're trying too hard. It's comfortable, classic, and made for a day that's full of running around.

This is probably the outfit I'd throw on if I knew I'd be outside from morning until the fireworks ended.

I'd wear this to:

  • A community celebration

  • An afternoon at the park

  • A family barbecue

  • Fireworks with friends

Casual Americana

There's just something about a classic striped tee and white denim that feels so effortlessly American. It reminds me of small-town parades, grabbing a snow cone, and spending the afternoon outside without worrying about being overdressed.

I added my cherry Yankees hat for a fun little pop of personality, and the red Adidas sneakers tie everything together while still being comfortable enough to wear all day. Let's be honest—Fourth of July celebrations usually involve a lot more walking than I expect.

I'd wear this to:

  • A neighborhood barbecue

  • Watching a parade

  • A baseball game

  • An afternoon spent downtown

Happy Fourth of July!

One thing I love about all of these outfits is that none of them scream "Fourth of July."

They're simply cute summer outfits that happen to mix red, white, and blue together in a way that feels fun, comfortable, and easy to wear. Even better, every single one of these pieces can be mixed and matched long after the holiday is over.

I'd love to know—which outfit is your favorite? And if you've already picked out what you're wearing this Fourth of July, tell me about it in the comments! I'm always looking for outfit inspiration.

hi babes!

These days, I'm focused on creating a life I'm excited to wake up to. That looks a lot like reading good books, caring for my plants, chasing ambitious goals, trying new things, and learning as I go.
